During my recent trip to Mexico, I had the pleasure of staying at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta and had such an incredible stay. I wanted to share with you 10 reasons why you’d love to stay at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta as well! If you’re looking for a vacation destination to relax, look no further than Puerto Vallarta. Laidback and beautiful, this Mexican town is on the rise Mexico’s latest hot spot!

1. Beach Front Property

The Marriott Puerto Vallarta has direct beach access making the decision of laying by the pool or the beach even harder. Many of the hotels located in Puerto Vallarta, especially the ones located in the downtown neighborhood are off the beach. Once you enter the open-aired lobby you’ll be able to see the blue waters.

To get downtown, you’ll have to take a 15-20 minute car ride to the Romantic Zone and Malecon Boardwalk. You’ll find restaurants and shopping in this area downtown. Between the Rio Cuale you’ll find a flea market of local artisans selling everything you can think of. If you were looking to buy a souvenir I would do it there!

2. The Staff

When I read reviews that say the staff was nice, I am a bit skeptical about how true that is. But I must say I was blown away by the staff here. Everyone was so friendly, you really felt at home when you walked throughout the property. This was a huge plus for me. Even the front desk, concierge, bartenders, and servers were happy to help you!

3. The Fun Swim-Up Bar & Pool

Is it me, or do frozen margaritas taste better from a swim-up bar? Loved this feature at the pool. If you need access to drinks without swimming, there are plenty of servers to order from as well. Also, I have to say the pool was large enough that it wasn’t too crowded which is a plus!

4. Updated Room Design

The Marriott Puerto Vallarta is going through a major renovation to update the guest rooms. The updated rooms will have newer furnishings and designs. During our stay, we were in a non-updated room, but we still had all the same amenities. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and my favorite feature was the balcony overlooking the ocean and pool!

5. Variety in Dining Options

There are plenty of dining options available in the hotel. Whether you’re craving fresh ceviche, sushi, quick bites, or classic Mexican fare you’ll be covered by the various restaurants available. There is La Estancia serving traditional Mexican food, the Lobby Ceviche & Tequila Bar, a Grab & Go Deli Los Mangos, an oceanfront seafood restaurant Las Casitas, an American Champion Sports Bar, and a Japanese restaurant Mikado. Not only are there plenty of options to choose from, but the food is also actually very delicious and fresh! I frequented the Lobby Ceviche & Tequila bar for some afternoon snacks like fresh guacamole, ceviche, and traditional margaritas.

If you were looking for something outside of the hotel, the Marina has restaurants and bar options is a short walk away.

6. The Relaxing Ohtli Spa

Hands down you’ll have to make an appointment for a massage at the Ohtli Spa. I had a Swedish massage and it was definitely worth it. Be sure to arrive at your appointment early to take advantage of the plunge pools, therapy baths, and steam room to get your muscles ready for the massage. You could easily spend your whole day here it was that luxurious!

7. Photos on the Promenade

If there was a wedding at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta, this is where it would happen, but if you just wanted to watch the sunrise, or do yoga on this platform you could as well. It was a beautiful spot for photos, sip a cocktail, and take in the ocean.

8. Marriott’s Very Own Tequila

Being located in Jalisco, the tequila center of the world, the Marriott Puerto Vallarta has its very own tequila named Casamagna. It’s only tequila in the world produced by Marriott, which I thought was so interesting. You can sample tequila varieties from Blanco to Extra Ańejo daily at the Lobby Ceviche Bar.

9. Colorful Sunsets

I woke up early one morning to catch the sunrise, and then I realized I was not on the east coast. Instead, the Marriott Puerto Vallarta has a front-row seat to the prettiest sunsets!

10. Mitsy the Cat

I can’t forget Mitsy. As a cat lady, I was so excited to see that there was a house cat running around the property! Mitsy is so friendly, all cat-lovers will have a great time spotting her.
