I just got back from a trip to Cancun, and I honestly could not believe how many compliments I got on my outfits once people found out they were from Amazon!
I packed only affordable vacation pieces for this trip, and so many of them looked designer-level without the designer price tag. It really made me question why we spend more on vacation outfits when you can get this exact look for so much less.
So here I’m going to break down everything I wore on my Vacation to Cancun, Mexico.
The Standout Pieces From the Trip
All of these were affordable Amazon finds, mostly under $50, and packed so much better than over-the-top designer pieces. Want to see them all? I’ve linked them on my Amazon Storefront.
- The brown lightweight cover-up that instantly made every swimsuit look put together
- The striped crochet two-piece set was breathable, flowy, and perfect in the heat
- The black-trim cover-up that somehow made every look feel more elevated
- The cotton two-piece dinner set I now wear just as often at home as I did on vacation
- The beige straw-handle bag that went with every outfit and fit everything I needed
- The pearl claw clips that kept my hair back got so many compliments
The Brown Cover-Up I Wore on Repeat

Since most days were spent at the pool or beach, I focused more on cover-ups than swimsuits. My favorite was an Amazon brown quarter-sleeve cover-up that felt lightweight, soft, and not scratchy at all.
The color was the perfect deep brown and looked so good layered over a brown swimsuit. It instantly made the whole look feel intentional and polished without trying too hard. Plus, it’s not too short!

Chic Striped Crochet Cover-Up Set

Another favorite was a striped crochet two-piece cover-up set in brown and white. The pants were super stretchy and the fabric was extremely lightweight, which is key in the Cancun heat. I loved how roomy and flowy it felt, and it looked so cute worn over a two-piece swimsuit. This was one of those outfits that felt effortless but still very put together.
Black Trim Crochet Cover-Up

I also brought a Cupshe cover-up with black piping detail that I ended up wearing constantly. There was something about the contrast trim that made it feel a little more sophisticated and elevated.
It worked with every swimsuit I packed, which made getting dressed so easy. I sized up in all of my cover-ups so they felt relaxed and breezy.
Black One-Piece Swimsuit

One swimsuit I absolutely loved on this trip was this Cupshe black one-piece with a deep V neckline. It felt flattering and cute without showing too much skin, and the cross-back detail made it feel more elevated than a basic one-piece. It was such a good option for an all-inclusive resort.

What to wear around the resort

In the mornings, comfort was the priority. I wore two easy two-piece sets for breakfast and coffee runs. One was a green striped set with a vest and pants that made me feel put together without effort.
The other was a bright yellow set with shorts and an oversized top, perfect for throwing on and heading to the buffet.
What I wore to Dinner
100% Cotton Two-Piece Set

For dinner, I wore a cotton two-piece set that I also wear back home in Miami. It looks sophisticated but feels incredibly comfortable, which is always my goal! I paired this set with my go-to minimizing strapless bra for the complete look.
Green Checkered Designer-Inspired Dress

I also packed a green checkered, designer-inspired dress that flowed beautifully and felt very resort-appropriate. It was one of those dresses that instantly made me feel like I was on vacation.
I always get asked what strapless bra I wear under my vacation outfits, I did a full review on my favorite Amazon minimizing strapless bra I wear all the time!
Accessories I Wore on Repeat

I kept accessories simple but intentional. A beige straw-handle bag worked with every outfit and fit so much inside.
I rotated between flat metallic sandals for dinner and the most comfy sandals for daytime. They have the most incredible arch support, and come in multiple colors under $20.
One of my most complimented accessories was a set of pearl claw hair clips. They were perfect for windy days, kept my hair back, and looked way more expensive than they were.
The $40 Cancun Must HAve

To keep my makeup in place through pool days, sun, and margaritas, I brought a Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray that truly held everything together. I did not even have to redo my makeup before dinner, which meant more time relaxing by the pool. So worth it.
Where we stayed in Cancun

To wrap it all up, we stayed at Secrets Playa Blanca Cancun, a newer adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Playa Mujeres, and it completely set the tone for the trip.
The space felt modern and calm with a natural, elevated aesthetic that made everything feel relaxed but still special. It was the kind of resort where you want to slow down, stay present, and honestly start planning your next visit before you even leave.
Between the setting, the warm January weather, and outfits that made getting dressed easy, it was one of those trips that felt effortless from start to finish.
Everything I wore on this trip was affordable, mostly under $50, and from Amazon. It is proof that you can pack light, stay on budget, and still look elevated on vacation.
