Unforgettable Experience Sailing Along the Amalfi Coast, Italy
Last Updated on July 18, 2020 by Dana Berez
I had the absolute pleasure of sailing along Italy’s Amalfi Coast with Blue Star Positano, a private and small group tours boat company located in Positano. The whole experience was just magical. I couldn’t help but smile the entire time! The boat views of Positano can’t be beat. I’ll never forget taking in the beachfront of Positano and the stunning rocks of the Amalfi landscape. I highly recommend changing your perspective of the Amalfi Coast, by taking a boat tour along the coast.
Sailing Along the Amalfi Coast
What To Expect
Checking In:
The Blue Star stand is located on the main beach, the Spaggia Grande, in Positano. Elisabeth and Mariana will help you arrange your tour once inside. The options with Blue Star are pretty much endless. You can book a private boat and make your own itinerary, or do small group tours to Capri and Amalfi.
After confirming your tour, you will be lead to your boat and introduced to your captain. From there your magical journey begins. We were on the Nanniella Boat and everything that we needed was provided like towels and water. This was truly an unforgettable experience! I absolutely loved having the boat all to ourselves and the freedom to stop where we wanted for the perfectĀ Instagram photo ops.
Notable Stops
Our trip along the Almafi Cost lasted about two hours from Positano toĀ Conca dei Marini and back. Throughout our tour, our captain, Sandro, explained in detail the beautiful spots along the coast and the history behind them. Notable locations included: the legendaryĀ Villa TreVille, 5 Star Hotel Il San Pietro, famous restaurantĀ Da Adolfo, the Village ofĀ Priano, my absolute favorite Fiordo di Furore for its stunning arc, and the village ofĀ Conca dei Marini.Ā

Why Blue Star Positano
Because boating is one of the popular ways to travel along the Amalfi Coast and Capri, you’ll find a few companies offering boat tours and excursions in Positano. However, Blue Star stood out for their friendly service and social media presence. Communicating with Elisabeth and Mariana was such a pleasure and they kept us updated in a timely manner. They were so accommodating and friendly you could really trust them to make you excursion a fantastic experience.
Things to Consider
Weather:Ā The weather plays a big role for scheduling your tour. Your excursion may be canceled if the waters aren’t calm for your tour. One of our tours was canceled due to weather, but Blue Star was very accommodating and scheduled us for another tour that fit into our schedule. To confirm your tour, check in at the stand a couple hours before your excursion to see if the weather is fine for boating.
Sea Sickness: Just to be safe, consider taking a motion sickness pill before getting on the boat. Even the best sea legs can feel the under turn of the current on the boats, and nothing ruins an amazing boating experience like feeling sick.
Wear a Swimsuit:Ā Wear a swimsuit under your clothes! When sailing along the Amalfi coast you can opt to jump in and swim in the gorgeous blue waters.
Have the Best Time:Ā This was definitely the highlight of my stay in Positano. Nothing beats a private boat sailing along the Amalfi Coast!

Hope you enjoyed this post! I highly recommend Blue Star for any boating excursion from Positano! Save it to your Pin Boards!

Oh, I was in Italy this time last year. We visited Positano but didn’t go out sailing. Now I wish I did. Just means I will have to go back again, hopefully soon!

LOVE this post! This is exactly the type of tour I’m wanting. I sent the company an email but was wondering if you have to book in advance? I also didn’t see any pricing on their website. Do you know how much they charge per hour for a private tour? Thanks in advance!!
danaberez
Leah MaschingHi Leah! Sorry for the late reply. You’ll have to book in advance, it also depends on what you want as well, but speak with Elisabeth for exact pricing. You’ll love it.
