Honest Quince Review: What to Know Before You Buy

One of the things I look for when purchasing any piece of clothing is the materials. When I see 100% natural fabric on the label, I know I’m in the right place.

So when I discovered Quince about a year ago and its endless options of 100% cashmere, leather, organic cotton, linen, and washable silk clothing at affordable prices, I was ready to try everything.

A $50 100% cashmere sweater is something to get excited about. It’s no wonder you’ve probably seen one of the countless ads and the hype around Quince.

But is Quince worth it? You’ve come to the right Quince review.

I regularly purchase items from Quince, so I know the ins and outs of their product line. I even have the Quince website saved on my bookmarks bar to catch the latest arrivals. I’ve nearly tried every clothing item, because let’s face it, I’m obsessed.

Firstly, what in the world is Quince? Quince is an online-only retailer that sells “affordable luxury” items, including clothing, bedding, home, travel, pets, and more.

Across all their products, Quince’s style is timeless and classic.

For clothing, you’ll find great wardrobe essentials for everyday wear and quality workwear pieces in neutral colors. Because of the classic silhouettes, nearly half my wardrobe is made up of Quince clothing.

Quince is NOT known for super flashy colors and ultra-trendy designs. When you buy an item from Quince it’s going to be timeless and look stylish for years to come.

What is Quince Known for?

Quince is known for its affordable prices for high-quality materials in clothing, bedding, accessories, and home items that tyically would cost you more at other retailers.

For example, you can find $50 cashmere sweaters on Quince that would cost you at least $100 elsewhere. That is an incredible price for something so luxurious, and I’ve dug deep with this Quince cashmere review going over my favorite styles.

Not only can you find low prices for clothing items, but you can also find incredible deals on leather goods, kitchen cookware, glassware, travel bags, and jewelry.

How is Quince so inexpensive?

Now, how can Quince secure such fantastic pricing on their items?

Quince works directly with factories to make and produce their items worldwide. This way, there is no markup from the middleman, making the prices lower than in traditional retail.

Let’s go over my top favorite times from Quince that I’ve personally tried and worn.

Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater

Quince’s viral $50 cashmere crewneck sweater is one of my favorites.

This is your typical classic fit crewneck sweater made with grade-A Mongolian cashmere. I prefer to size up in this style for a looser, relaxed fit.

I like how this style comes in a variety of colors and even stripes. You can compare this to a $128 J. Crew cashmere sweater that has a similar feel.

Mongolian Cashmere Tee

This might be my most worn Quince item. This cashmere tee is great for all climates and comes in a variety of colors. It’s my go-to for unpredictable fall and spring days.

Like the cashmere crewneck, I prefer to size up in this style for a looser fit.

Australian Merino Wool Half Zip Sweater

This is the most luxurious wool sweater that has a casual vibe to it. I feel so chic and stylish in this, and it completely dresses up my outfits. Made with 100% wool, this is a heavier weight that keeps you warm, yet it’s breathable.

This fits true to size with a relaxed fit. Whenever I Facetime my mom, she requests this sweater for herself.

100% Organic Cotton Cropped Cardigan

This cropped cardigan is so adorable! I particularly love the organic cotton material. Has a thicker weight to it, and it’s incredibly soft on your skin. This style does run true to size and comes in an array of colors.

100% Organic Cotton Boyfriend Crew Sweater

I own a similar sweater from J. Crew, and this one feels and looks so similar, you wouldn’t even tell the difference. The material has a nice weight to it, and for the price, you are getting a steal of a deal.

Italian Wool Double-Breasted Slouch Coat

I was so eager to try out the wool coats from Quince, and they don’t disappoint. However, some styles are not 100% wool.

This double-breasted slouch wool coat is made of 80% Italian Melton Wool and 20% Nylon. The style has a relaxed shoulder and fits true to size. I sized up for a more slouchy look and the color

Italian Wool Classic Single-Breasted Coat

The chocolate color of this wool coat is so on trend that every time I wear this out the door, I always get a compliment.

Compared to the coat above, this single-breasted style has a more fitted look with an elegant single button and collar. This is an ideal fall/winter coat that comes in a few other colors, still made with the Italian Melton Wool for under $200. Runs true to size.

100% Merino Wool Cropped Shirt Jacket

For under $100, you can rock this stunning 100% wool cropped jacket that adds a cool, chic, casual look to your outfits. This fabric feels so luxurious, trust me, it’s the perfect spring-fall coat.

Featherless Quilted Long Puffer Jacket

I love the idea of this jacket, however the Size L was a little tight in the hips when I zipped up this style. It is a best seller on Quince, but for a looser fit, I would consider sizing up.

100% Leather Blazer

This $200 leather blazer is compared to $895 leather blazer, and it does not lack in luxury. Made with top grain sheep leather, this blazer completes any look and keeps your body temperature regulated vs overheated!

Washable Stretch Silk Notch Collar Blouse

I own this top in 4 colors and it’s by far the dreamiest silk button-down I’ve tried. The fabric makeup is 90% mulberry silk and 10% spandex for a little stretch.

It’s extremely lightweight and perfect for warm weather climates. There are plenty of color options and I love how you can wear this to the office, or styled for a date night.

I prefer to size up to an XL in this style for a looser relaxed fit. Plus it’s machine washable, so you can say goodbye to dry cleaning bills!

100% Washable Silk Maxi Skirt

This is my go-to silk maxi skirt, and I’ve tried others from Madewell that are satin and cost more than this one!

As someone who is a bit self-conscious about wearing shiny things across my stomach, this one drapes beautifully on that I don’t feel the need to add shapewear. I’ve tried both the XL and L and preferred the fit of the size large on this skirt (I’m a size 12/14 in jeans).

Plus this skirt is 100% silk and completely machine washable for easy maintenance.

Washable Stretch Silk Tank Midi Dress

I believe this is the perfect hot weather occasion dress because the silk is so lightweight, you won’t even feel this on! I love the higher neckline and the fact you can wear a regular bra with this style.

I’m wearing the color “Wine Tasting” and sized up in this style unsure of the fit. I like how it drapes and it’s the perfect length.

Italian Wool Straight Leg Pants

Who knew a pair of “work pants” could look so good? I find that Quince has incredible workwear pieces, that are made to last. Plus they fit incredibly for much less than other brands.

These pants come in numbered sizes from 0-16 and fit true to size. The fabric is what sets these apart. These are breathable and stretchy making these the ultimate work pants.

Italian Wool Short Sleeve Dress

Made in the same fabric as the straight-leg pants, this wool dress screams sophistication. Extremely flattering yet perfect for the office. Plus you can easily accessorize and wear this dress after work hours!

100% European Linen Short Sleeve Shirt

I basically lived in this linen camp shirt all summer long, because it was extremely lightweight, stylish, and went with everything. In fact, it’s the perfect shirt to pack for Italy or any summer vacation.

Runs true to size with a relaxed fit.

100% European Linen Scoop Neck Midi Dress

This neckline is so sophisticated and sexy, it’s my go-to summer date night dress. I love how the bodice fits nice and tight (you don’t have to wear a bra!)

100% Organic Cotton Poplin Tiered Mini Dress

If you have not tried Quince’s organic cotton poplin fabric, you are in for a treat. It’s extremely lightweight and breathable- feels like one of my $300 designer dresses!

I found this style to be the perfect dress to wear during the daytime in summer. It’s been my go-to dress to bring on vacation with me and i’ve worn this on many cruises!

Italian Leather Triple Compartment Shopper Tote

This has been a staple tote bag from Quince and it’s always a best seller.

This three-compartment tote bag is the ideal work bag because there are functional pockets and a place for your laptop. The leather is heavy-duty, so you can easily add the weight to this bag.

I’ve also used it as a travel carry-on, but keep in mind there are two open pockets with no zippers which might cause issues if this bag falls over.

Italian Leather Handwoven Convertible Clutch

For $99.90 this leather clutch bag is a steal. High-quality leather with two functional zippered pockets. This is my go-to evening clutch that actually can fit more than just a credit card inside.

This also comes with a cross-body strap making this even more versatile.

Italian Leather Slingback 75mm Heel

Finally, a high heel that is comfortable, and sophisticated enough for the office, yet sexy for date night. This leather slingback is $80 (around the same price as Steve Madden) yet feels like a $300 shoe!

The leather footbed is breathable for your foot and this style can be worn for so many occasions. I just had these for a few weeks and they already got so much use!

Quince Men’s Clothing

We can’t forget about the guys. Quince clothing for men uses the same incredible materials for classic silhouettes. In short, Quince is what’s hanging in Al’s closet and some of his favorite styles include:

Quince Sizing

From my experience trying many Quince clothing items, I find that Quince runs true to size. I also like to look for keywords in their listing, like “oversized” and “fitted” to understand what size to order.

Where I found the sizing to be small were the classic cashmere sweaters and the silk tops.

They do offer some styles in extended sizing– however, I think they could make more styles this way.

Where could Quince improve?

Now I love Quince, but from my experience shopping on their site, I would love to see the following:

• More pant styles with longer inseams for us tall girls
• More bottom styles in general.
• More size availability. They do offer extended sizes in some styles, but would love to see more!
• More color/ pattern options. While I love the classics, it would be nice to have some different color ranges in certain styles

Quince Bedding

Now beyond clothing, Quince has an array of products online for home, kitchen, bedding, and travel.

I have not tried everything, but I do have a few bedding items from Quince and I am very impressed with the quality.

They use premium fabrics like linen and cotton to make gorgeous quilts, sheets, etc. If you want a bedding refresh, I’d say Quince has the best affordable luxury pieces.

How is Quince Quality?

Overall, I’ve been impressed with Quince’s quality. I’ve tried over 50 Quince pieces of clothing and bedding and each style was made well with no loose stitching, smells, staining, etc.

Now, of course, not all styles worked out, but solely for things that weren’t flattering on me versus quality reasons.

Quince Shipping

I’ve never had an issue with my order arriving, however, the shipping does take longer from 6-9 business days. Because items are made in different factories, some things arrive faster than others.

Is Quince easy to return?

Quince’s return policy is very generous. You can return all unworn, unwashed, undamaged, and unaltered items within 365 days of the purchase date. You must return items in their original packaging.

Does Quince have discount codes?

Quince does not offer discount codes. However, they have a Refer a Friend program where you can earn up to $20 in store credit when you refer a new customer who spends $100.

I’ve also received a coupon in the mail with a 10% discount after I made some purchases.

They do offer 10% off for U.S. military, first responders, nurses & educators who are registered with ID.me.

Is Quince Legit?

Yes, Quince is a legitimate company based in San Francisco, California. I’ve been a customer for nearly two years and never had an issue with any order. Plus with a convenient return policy, it’s easy to try out new styles since there are no physical stores.
