230 Fifth

230 Fifth Avenue is one of New York’s largest rooftop gardens and offers an iconic view of the Empire State Building and the surrounding area. The menu features a full cocktail, beer, wine, and bottle list, in addition to a full food menu with popular appetizers, and large entrees. 

This large rooftop bar is open for brunch with a popular bottomless brunch special and is open throughout the night. Expect a $20 cover charge after 5 PM on Friday & Saturday when it’s the busiest. 

You can make a reservation in advance, but walk-ins are encouraged.

Magic Hour at Moxy Times Square

Get ready for pure pink bliss. Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge has transformed into an all-pink rooftop Rose Garden complete with over 10,000 roses, pink rose theme cocktails, and treats. 

Located on top of the Moxy Hotel in Times Square, the Rose Garden experience will be accompanied by a pink food & beverage menu and can’t miss photo moments like a carousel wrapped in a custom rose print, seats converted to layered rose swings, and walls coated in foliage.

Mr. Purple

Located on the 15th Floor of Hotel Indigo in the heart of the Lower East Side is Mr.Purple, an indoor and outdoor NYC rooftop bar with iconic views of downtown New York City. The drink menu features small batched liquor and specialty cocktails, making this the perfect spot to meet up with friends. 

The interior is surrounded by two terraces, the larger one having an outdoor pool, which is reserved for hotel guests. Seating can be reserved in advance for indoor and outdoor seating.

Cloud M

Head to Citizen M hotel on Bowery and take the elevator 20 flights up to Cloud M, a magical rooftop bar where you’ll find incredible views of downtown Manhattan. 

You can enjoy one of the many craft beers, wines, and cocktails on the outdoor lounge open in Spring and Summer.

The Greens at Pier 17

The Greens on Pier 17 have transitioned into summer mode with 32 individual mini lawns and two rooftop patios offering sweeping views of the Lower Manhattan skyline and iconic Brooklyn Bridge.

On the Rooftop’s two patios you’ll find an alternative venue and an elevated craft cocktail menu. The Jalapeño- Watermelon Margarita Frosé, offers a spicy twist on your favorite summer cocktail. 

New Reservations will be released every Monday at 10 am for the following week. Each mini lawn reservation will incur a $20-$20 fee, where a portion will be donated to local charity partners.

The Crown at Hotel 50 Bowery

Another great rooftop bar with light bites is The Crown at Hotel 50 Bowery. Located on the 21st floor, The Crown offers incredible views of the Manhattan Skyline.

Here you will find a variety of classic & seasonal cocktails and elevated bar fare. Cocktails include GG Manhattan, Stormy Mule, and the Grand Spritz. For dining, you can try globally-inspired small bites including Pan Fried Chicken Dumplings, Tuna Tartare Tacos, and Pork Buns.

Westlight

Perched upon the 22nd- floor, Westlight a rooftop bar featuring sweeping views of New York City & Williamsburg. Westlight is located on top of the William Vale Hotel, and serves dynamic cocktails with classic ingredients, rare spirits, craft beer, and wine, while the menu of small plates reflects inspiration around global street food.

The Roof at PUBLIC Hotel

Reopening Summer 2021

The Roof at Public Hotel offers incredible 360-degree unobstructed views of New York City. You can find both outdoor and indoor seating with floor-to-ceiling windows. 

You’ll find a rotating seasonal cocktail menu with specialty drinks, beers, and wines plus a selection of light bites. 

It’s an ideal place to catch the sunset with a group of friends, while after dark it turns into an upbeat lounge throughout the night.

Azul at Hotel Hugo

Getting inspiration from Old Havana, Hotel Hugo‘s Azul on the Rooftop embraces a Cuban cantina against the gorgeous backdrop of New York City. 

For the views, you can spot 360 degrees of Lower Manhattan, making this an ideal place for the sunset and catching up with friends. The menu includes frozen cocktails, mojitos, and a menu of street tacos and house-made guacamole.

St. Cloud at the Knickerbocker Hotel

You can find both indoor and outdoor seating options on this expansive 7,500 sq foot lounge. There’s even a signature cigar lunge and luxurious Waterford Crystal lounge. 

St. Cloud features a seasonal menu with small plates and a unique cocktail program. You can enjoy all kinds of entertainment while you enjoy high above New York City for one unforgettable New York City experience.

Loopy Doopy

Head to Loopy Doopy on the 16th Floor of the Downtown Conrad Hotel in Battery Park New York City. Here you’ll find an outdoor terrace with direct sunset views overlooking the Hudson River. 

Be sure to order the famous Poptail Drink where you order your base of either Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial, prosecco or rosecco served on tap, plus your choice of popsicle like the Raspberry Moscow Mule or Lemon-Jasmin Gin just to name a few. 

Other cocktails and light bites are available. The Refresher cocktail, a spicy watermelon jalapeno margarita was delicious, plus the fresh hummus and the Mediterranean Pickled Selva Shrimp are a must-order.

PHD Terrace Midtown

Welcome to Sunflower Dreams, the latest summer installation at PHD Terrace at Dream Midtown. The whole terrace has transformed into a vibrant dreamland of lush greenery with an ascending series of floral installations made with thousands of sunflowers, plus you can’t miss the famous flower tunnel. 

Check out the whimsical, floral-inspired beverage program featuring sips including Cotton Candy Kisses, with pomegranate bursting boba, grapefruit infused pea flower, prosecco, and cotton candy mimicking NYC’s rooftop sunsets. 

This dreamy sunflower destination is open every Wednesday – Sunday from 5 PM – 12 AM through October 2021.

Press Lounge at Ink 48 Hotel

The Press Lounge, on the 16th floor at Ink 48 Hotel offers panoramic views of New York City. VotedLocated in a preeminent theatrical printing press from the 1930s, Ink 48 has completely renovated the space into a modern retreat. 

You’ll find seasonal cocktails like the Berry Cool made with bourbon, watermelon, blackberry basil syrup and rooibos tea, and small plates from soft pretzels & charcuterie while you take in the city views.

Elsie Rooftop

Located on the Penthouse 25 floors up is Elsie Rooftop, named after Elsie de Wolfe, the world’s most famous decorator. This swanky rooftop lounge offers stylish interior and outdoor seating with a seasonally light fare menu and delicious cocktails.

Jimmy Rooftop

One of New York’s most beloved rooftops, the newly reimagined JIMMY features panoramic views of Midtown, Wall Street, and the Hudson River. 

With one of the few outdoor pool decks in the city, this 18th-floor rooftop bar on top of the is a year-round destination. During the warmer weather, you’ll get to experience the roof deck with comfortable daytime chaises to nighttime cocktail seating with unparalleled views of New York City.

Harriets Rooftop & Lounge

Offering an unforgettable view of the Manhattan Skyline, including a front-row view to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty, Harriet’s Rooftop & Lounge is an open-aired rooftop garden on top of the 1 Hotel Brooklyn is a must-stop for summer.

The menu reflects new signature cocktails and seasonal bites including a Tuna Tartare Tower, Sushi Rolls, and my go-to Harriet’s Margarita cocktail.

The Ready at the Moxy East Village

The Ready at Moxy East Village is a brand new rooftop bar that just opened in April 2021. It mimicks a coveted New York City backyard with a retractable glass roof and walls making it a year-round rooftop bar.

You truly get the sense that you are in a casual backyard garden in the East Village with lush decor and menu selections. Cans and coolers highlight the drink offerings, plus fresh and frozen cocktails for those who want something stronger. 

Plus you’ll find beer pong, a taco stand with made-to-order fresh tacos, plus classic bar snacks perfect for a fun night out.

Sandbar Rooftop

You can experience the beach right from Sandbar Rooftop, with its Hamptons beach decor. Open for all seasons in the heart of the Flatiron District, this 23rd-floor rooftop on top of the Hilton Hotel offers great almost 360 views of the city and light bites. 

The decor reflects the laid-back feel of the Hamptons beach with whimsical touches from lifeguard chairs, hanging lounges, and swings made from reclaimed wine barrels. 

Enjoy one of the cocktails from the lengthy menu and pinsa pizza, which is absolutely delish. My favorite is the Bianca with caramelized onions and fresh ricotta.

A.R.T. NoMad (Arlo Rooftop) 

Located 31 stories in the sky, the A.R.T. NoMad rooftop bar on top of the Arlo NoMad has beautiful panoramic city views including views of the Empire State Building, inventive cocktails, and an approachable atmosphere. You can find a dynamic cocktail program and a selection of Middle-Eastern-inspired snacks. 

Be sure to check out the infamous “sky walk” glass floor installation that provides unforgettable views of NYC. 

Make Believe

Make Believe is a new rooftop social club perched on top of SIXTY LES hotel with amazing views of New York City.

Located in the heart of downtown Manhattan in the lively Lower East Side neighborhood, Make believe is a perfect spot to catch up with friends or dance under the disco ball.

The cocktail list is inspired by the many flavors native to Japan. At night you can expect DJ lineups from artists from around the world.

Ophelia Lounge

Sitting at the top of the iconic art deco Beekman Tower, originally a woman’s only club now sits Ophelia, an upscale lounge with stunning views of New York City. 

Located on the 26th Floor, you’ll find unparalleled 360-degree views of New York City on Ophelia’s greenhouse Terrace. Plus the cocktail menu has inventive spins on the classics.

Glass Ceiling

Glass Ceiling is a brand new rooftop bar and lounge in the heart of NoMad where glamour meets a bohemian feel. A beautiful marble bar and soft accented rattan chairs add a calming feel to space, creating an oasis for all walks of life. 

The menu features light bites, cocktails, wines, and beers with views of the Empire State Building and New York City.

Broken Shaker

If you are into cocktails, then the Broken Shaker is a must for you. This is more of a cocktail bar than a restaurant, but still adding it to this list because the cocktails are that good. 

This rooftop oasis, on top of the Freehand Hotel in the Flatiron districts, offers amazing views of the city and has an eclectic menu of handcrafted cocktails and fresh bites. 

Here you can try unique cocktails with different syrups, infusions, herbs, fresh juices, and exotic ingredients from around the world.

Haven Rooftop

Get ready for awesome views of Midtown at Haven Rooftop. Located above the Sanctuary Hotel, Haven offers delicious food and craft cocktails perfect for any occasion. The summer sangria is a must for a sunny day. 

You can find happy hour Monday-Friday from 3PM-6PM, and a delicious weekend brunch. 

Favorite dishes include tuna tartare, Buffalo winds, Branzino, and Steak Au Poivre with peppercorn sauce.

Gansevoort Meatpacking Rooftop Lounge

The Gansevoort Meatpacking rooftop has been a neighborhood staple for catching beautiful sunset views. And it’s been recently renovated in 2021 with a new style and menu. Located on the 14th Floor, you’ll catch 360-degree views of New York City including the iconic Empire State Building. 

The menu features inventive cocktails and light bites.

The Skylark

Temporarily Closed 

The Skylark is a stunning rooftop lounge with indoor seating with floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-aired rooftop terrace. Set thirty stories up in the heart of Times Square South, The Skylark offers classically-styled cocktail lounge with panoramic views of Manhattan’s skyline including the Empire State Building. 

Currently, this venue is only open to private events.

Le Bain

Le Bain is a funky and fun Meatpacking rooftop staple. Located on top of the Standard Hotel, Le Bain offers incredible views of New York City with plenty of entertainment. Get ready to have a wild night under the disco ball, or even a dip in the interior jacuzzi. 

Reservations are highly suggested, however, walk-in tables are still welcome based on availability.
