I think this might be my favorite Walmart fashion launch to date. Seriously… I’m obsessed.
They absolutely nailed summer with this collection with their Free Assembly, Scoop, and Time and Tru brands. Think breezy cotton dresses, chic matching sets, colorful prints, and pieces that look like they belong in a resort boutique, not Walmart.
After trying everything on, I kept saying the same thing: I can’t believe this is from Walmart.
The quality genuinely surprised me. So many of the pieces are made from breathable cotton, the prints are gorgeous, and the little details make everything feel far more expensive than the price tag.
If you’re building your summer wardrobe, these are the pieces I’d buy before they sell out.

The Palm Print Cotton Maxi Dress

If I had to pick one standout piece from the entire collection, this maxi dress would be it. The crisp white cotton fabric and palm tree border look far more expensive than the price tag, giving it a designer resort feel.
The sweetheart neckline, adjustable straps, smocked back, and flattering maxi length make it as practical as it is beautiful. This is the kind of dress I’d pack for vacation, wear to dinner, or throw on for brunch all summer long.
Worth buying? Absolutely.
The Smocked Pineapple Print Mini Dress

Okay, don’t let the pineapple print fool you. From far away, it honestly looks more like a fun floral or citrus print, so it’s much easier to wear than you might think.
I also love the fit of this one. The sweetheart neckline is so flattering, and the smocked waist gives it a really comfortable fit while still creating a nice shape. It’s a mini dress, but I didn’t find it too short at all. It’s just one of those easy, throw-on-and-go dresses that’s perfect for summer.
And yes, if you’re wondering… maybe skip this one for a cruise if you know, you know.
The Crochet Bodice Midi Dress

This crochet bodice dress comes in both navy and green, and honestly, I couldn’t decide which one I liked more. The navy has more of that classic nautical feel, while the green feels a little more tropical and vacation-ready.
The crochet bodice adds such a pretty detail, and I love that the skirt is made from lightweight cotton, so it stays nice and breezy for summer. It also has a beautiful eyelet hem that makes it feel even more elevated. I found it true to size, and the silhouette is just so flattering and easy to wear.
If you’re looking for one dress you can throw on all summer long, whether it’s for brunch, vacation, or an outdoor event, this one checks all the boxes.
The Green Printed Maxi Dress

This might be one of the prettiest in the collection. As someone who’s 5’10”, I’m always excited to find a maxi dress that’s actually long enough, and this one delivers. Made from 100% cotton, it features a flattering V-neckline, a defined waist, hidden pockets, and a true maxi length that’s perfect for taller women.
The fit is so good that if Walmart released this dress in more prints, I’d honestly buy every single one. In fact, I have another print waiting in my cart.
The Cotton Crochet Tank

This is definitely not your average tank top. I love how the flutter sleeves almost make it look like a little tee, while the crochet fabric gives it that pretty, elevated feel.
It’s made from 100% cotton, and bonus, you can wear a regular bra with it. It is a little bit sheer, so I’d stick with a nude bra underneath. The only thing to keep in mind is that because it’s cotton crochet, it has a bit more weight to it than I expected.
If you live somewhere with milder summers, this is such a cute piece you’ll get a ton of wear out of. If you’re dealing with Miami-level heat like I am, you might want to save it for cooler evenings or air-conditioned days.
The Farm Rio-Inspired Belted Midi Dress

This print on this midi dress is absolutely incredible. The second I saw it, I got major Farm Rio vibes. It’s bold, colorful, and looks so much more expensive than it actually is.
The fit is just as good as the print. The removable belt cinches in your waist, the sleeves make it easy to wear, and the A-line silhouette is so flattering. Honestly, this is one of those dresses that people are going to stop you and ask where you got it.
I genuinely can’t believe Walmart made this one. It’s that good.
The Embroidered Crochet Matching Set

This matching set is giving luxury resort vacation vibes. I love the embroidered palm trees and black trim because they make the whole outfit feel so elevated and expensive.
The pieces are sold separately, which I actually love because you can wear them together or mix and match them with other pieces in your closet. I paired the skirt with the matching top, but the top would also look adorable with white shorts or linen pants.
For sizing, I did size up to an XL in the skirt because the crochet doesn’t have much stretch, and I’m glad I did. The top fit me well in my usual size, but it is a little more fitted, so if you’re between sizes or prefer a looser fit, I’d consider sizing up.
The Floral Mid Sleeve Dress

This floral dress is one of those pieces that can do it all. The bright floral print is so fun for summer, but the silhouette is what really won me over. The seam under the bust creates a flattering shape, and the midi length makes it feel polished without being fussy.
I could see myself wearing this to brunch, on vacation, running errands, or even out to dinner. It’s one of those easy dresses you can throw on, instantly look put together, and head out the door.
The Cotton Puff Sleeve Belted Dress

This cotton dress is just pure summer happiness. I love the pink and orange stripes, the puff sleeves, and the cinched waist because they create such a flattering shape. Plus, it’s made from 100% cotton, so it’s lightweight and comfortable even on the hottest days.
It has that effortless daytime dress feel that you can wear with sandals, sneakers, or even dress up for brunch. It’s bright, cheerful, and one of those pieces that instantly puts you in a good mood.
The Denim Corset Top

Every summer wardrobe needs a great denim top, and this one is such a good find. I love the cropped fit and the little side opening detail because it keeps it from feeling too structured. There’s also a zipper in the back, which makes it really easy to get on and off, and the fabric has just enough stretch to be comfortable.
I styled mine with linen pants, and I loved the combination. This top would also look just as cute with white shorts, denim jeans, or even a flowy skirt. It’s one of those versatile pieces you’ll keep reaching for all summer long.
The Brown Knit Tank Dress

I absolutely love brown for summer, and this midi dress is such a good example of why. The warm chocolate brown feels so rich and elevated, and it’s a nice change from all the whites and bright colors we usually see this time of year.
The fit is what really sold me. It’s incredibly lightweight, drapes beautifully, has pockets, and best of all, you can wear a regular bra. It’s one of those effortless throw-on-and-go dresses that somehow always looks put together. I know I’ll be reaching for this one all summer long.
My Overall Thoughts
I review a lot of affordable fashion every year, and I can honestly say this is one of Walmart’s strongest summer collections yet.
The biggest surprise wasn’t just how affordable everything was. It was how elevated the collection felt.
Many of the pieces are made from natural fabrics like cotton, several dresses include pockets, and the prints look far more expensive than their price tags suggest.
If I had to narrow it down even further, my top three favorites would be:
- The white palm print maxi dress
- The Farm Rio-inspired belted midi dress
- The palm print cotton maxi dress
Those are the pieces I think will sell out first.
If you love affordable fashion, my Old Navy Summer Collection has great natural options, plus I review plenty of Amazon fashion finds for your next read!
