10 Santorini Instagram Spots You Can’t Miss
Santorini just might be the most photogenic place in the world! Whitewashed buildings and blue-domed churches are the perfect Instagram background. I put together my top ten Santorini Instagram Spots you can’t miss while in Greece. I also gave tips on these Oia photo locations so you can get the best shot possible! I hope you’ll find some photo inspiration in this post!
Santorini Photo Tips
The Crowds: Okay, so Oia is CROWDED, and I mean it. After the cruise ships dock it will be pretty hard to get photos without people in it. Your best bet is to wake up early to take photos, but you still won’t be the only one taking them. Patience is key!
Locations: Also, I did my best to describe where you can find these locations. Google maps don’t have every walkway mapped out, but once you get there and walk through the alleyways you can find these spots and maybe more hidden gems.
Respect: Oia is one of the most photographed places in the world and getting the best photo seems to be on everyone’s list. You can do so, but just be respectful. If you start to stand on churches, you’ll defiantly be yelled at.
I even saw barbed wire to prevent people from climbing. There are signs literally everywhere saying don’t climb, yet people still do. I think it’s a daily battle for the residents of Oia. So just be respectful when taking photos.
Let’s get into the top Santorini Instagram spots that you can’t miss!

1. Sunrise at Aspaki Exclusive Suites Ledge
This spot is not on Google Maps, but it’s the walkway to Aspaki Exclusive Suites. This is a popular viewpoint throughout the day because there are unobstructed views of Oia, and the walkway is pretty large considering other streets in Oia.
Just don’t expect to be the only people there! You’ll have to turn off the main road Nik. Nomikou to find this area. Watching the sunrise from here was magic and a great way to start the day.
2. Three Domed Church
If you turn around from Aspaki Suites, you’ll find the famous view of the three-domed church. This is a must for Santorini Instagram Spots post. You can get a closer look, but you’ll be passing the private property. I opted just to get a quick photo with an eager line waiting for me to finish.
3. Pink Kastro Oia Houses
This pink house is photographed so much in Oia because it has such a unique color rather than white! It’s actually a hotel, so there are people staying behind the doors FYI. I recommend coming here during sunrise, or mid-day because of the lighting. I went during mid-morning and the shadows were not my friend. I had to edit this photo like crazy, so I would avoid it at all costs.
4. Santorini Caldera View
This photo is easy to get because you can find these views pretty much anywhere off the main road. This specific location is right by the famous Santorini Pink Church just down a few steps.

5. Oia Castle
Another popular Santorini Instagram Spot is Oia Castle. This is the #1 location to view those epic sunsets, but you’ll be fighting for that view. I’d recommend coming here for photos throughout the day. You can even view the Santorini Windmill from here!

6. Oia Doors
While Oia has epic views from every angle, don’t forget to look at the details that make this town so charming. This door was so stunning with the flowers flowing over that I had to take a photo. This spot is located just down the road from the famous church viewpoint below.

7. Santorini Pink Church
This just might be THE classic Santorini Shot! If you have seen any photos of Oia, this will definitely pop up! Now getting the photo is a bit controversial. It is located in Private Property and there is a gate you’ll have to pass to get on this pathway.
However, during my time there I saw countless professional couple photoshoots happening in the same spot, so I really wonder if anyone takes these signs seriously. In fact, if you are staying in a hotel in this area, you’ll have to pass this Private Property Sign anyway.
In general, I think the residents of Oia are over people disrespecting their town. Just be respectful and quick when taking your photos. And please don’t step on the church rooftops, it’s really overkilled. I even saw barbed wire to stop people from getting on the rooftops.

8. Classic Greek Church Bells
This might be the only church “roof” in Oia that I found that you can actually take photos with. The problem is, it is located in a private hotel/ residence area near where I stayed.
Because I was staying in that area it was easy for me to take photos without “trespassing” however I did see people come from the main road to get here.

9. Blue Dome
The blue domes are so iconic in Greece and I love how close-up you can get on this street. Zoe Aegeas Traditional Houses are located on this street, so you can find it on a google map there. The sun also lights up this spot in the morning beautifully!
10. Ducato Di Oia
Unfortunately, this is not public, but if you are looking for an Instagrammable spot to stay in Santorini, then Ducato Di Oia is right up your alley. The boutique hotel has ten unique suites featuring private pools.
I stayed in the Syros Suite that had an epic indoor pool overlooking the cliff of Santorini. The suite also had a large private balcony where I took so many photos! Check out the hotel here.
